In April 2009 I Michelle Ames bought Vanilla Hair design after working at Vanilla for Nicky Ginders-Coxhall for approximately 18 months.
When I bought the salon I was aware that i needed more stylists and had to make a decision about how I was going to solve the problem of being short staffed.
I decided that rather than employ outside stylists who may not work to the standard that I expect. It would be better for the company and for the trainees at Vanilla if I opened a training school and trained my staff myself.
So thats exactly what I did. Mondays became training school and the trainees do models from 11am to 7:30pm under my strict supervision. The training school went so well that I went on to write my own training programme which the trainees took to like ducks to water and at this point I knew something special was starting to happen.
Our trainees are very advanced, very dedicated and very talented young people. So wether you come and see a senoir stylist or a junior stylist you will recieve fantastic service. All junior stylists also have all thier work checked by myself to give them my full support and ensure that all the skills learnt at training school are being put into place.
Many customers have let us know that the service they have recieved at our training school is superior to any other salon they have visited in Bury St Edmunds.. We are very flattered by these comments and will strive to continue to improve and develop the service we offer.
If you are interested in applying for a position as a trainee at Vanilla, please write to Michelle Ames at our address on Churchgate Street.
